Sept. 18th- 22nd

               Hello, Kinder-Families!

a pile of autumn leaves

Here's a look at what we are up to this week!

ELA:
This week in language our focus is on the letter /m/.  We were introduced to Mimi Mouse on Monday.  She is our Alphafriend who reminds us what sound and letter formation we use for /m/.  Maybe your Kinder can sing you the Mimi Mouse song!  We are still working hard on letter formation and fine motor skills.  During reading groups, we are listening for the /m/ sound at the beginning, middle, and end of a word.  Don't forget to practice High-Frequency Words (HFW) at home with your Kinder!

                HFW:  I, like, the, and

Math:  Kinders worked on ordering numbers from 0 to 5.  They used number cards to put the numbers in counting order.  We also got the pattern blocks back out to make a real graph and picture graph of our pattern block shapes.

Social studies and science:  Hello fall!  We are having some crisp mornings now.  We will be identifying the signs of fall and creating a picture of items found in nature.   Please see the email for details about our Leaf Man project or email me for more information.

Religion:  God created everything from nothing.  Our Kinders are taking a closer look at the story of Creation by learning how God spoke and turned darkness into light and nothing into everything!  Keep practicing the Sign of the Cross at home with your Kinders!

Have a great week!
